EduRating is committed to protecting your personal data in accordance with the Personal Data Protection Act 2010 (PDPA) of Malaysia.
This Privacy Policy explains how your personal data is collected, used, disclosed, and safeguarded when you use the EduRating platform.

EduRating may collect, process, and store the following personal data:

  • Full name
  • Passport number
  • Seafarers’ Identity Document (SID) details
  • Email address and phone number
  • Learning activities, assessment attempts, and system logs

Personal data collected is limited to what is necessary for the purposes stated in this policy.

2. Purpose of Collection and Use

Your personal data is collected and used for the following lawful purposes:

  • To verify your identity
  • To provide access to EduRating courses and assessments
  • To generate and issue EduRating certificates
  • To upload and reflect course records in the Seafarer Documentation System (SDPX)
  • To comply with regulatory, statutory, and administrative requirements

EduRating will not process personal data for purposes other than those stated, unless required or permitted by law.

3. Disclosure of Personal Data

EduRating treats all personal data as confidential.

Personal data will not be disclosed to third parties without your consent, except where disclosure is required for official or regulatory purposes, including submission to relevant authorities such as the Malaysia Marine Department, or where disclosure is required under applicable laws.

4. Data Accuracy and Access Rights

EduRating takes reasonable steps to ensure that personal data is accurate, complete, and up to date.

You may request:

  • Access to your personal data, or
  • Correction of inaccurate or incomplete personal data

All requests are subject to verification. Administrative charges may apply, as permitted under PDPA.

5. Data Retention

Personal data will be retained only for as long as necessary to fulfil the purposes for which it was collected, or as required by regulatory or legal obligations.
Data that is no longer required will be securely deleted or anonymised.

6. Data Security

EduRating implements reasonable and appropriate security measures to protect personal data, including:

  • Controlled system access
  • Secure storage
  • Industry-standard encryption and safeguards

These measures are designed to prevent unauthorized access, misuse, loss, or disclosure of personal data.

7. Consent

By registering for and using the EduRating platform, you consent to the collection, use, and disclosure of your personal data in accordance with this Privacy Policy.
