1. Introduction

Welcome to EduRating, the official online training and assessment platform for foreign maritime ratings (non-officer level seafarers).
By accessing or using this platform, you agree to be bound by these Terms & Conditions.

EduRating is developed and managed by Kumpulan Wang Pusat Perdagangan Laut (KWPPL) & Mydeck Management Sdn Bhd (838817-A) and operates in accordance with the requirements and endorsement of the Malaysia Marine Department (MMD).


2. Eligibility & Account Use

  • EduRating is mandatory for foreign ratings applying for a Certificate of Recognition (COR) to work on Malaysian-flagged vessels.
  • Users must register using accurate, complete, and verifiable personal information.
  • Each account is strictly personal and must not be shared, transferred, or used by another individual.
  • Users are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality and security of their login credentials.

3. Course & Assessment

  • Users must complete all required learning modules before attempting the final assessment.
  • The EduRating certificate is valid for one (1) year from the date of passing.
  • Assessment results and course records will be reflected in the Seafarer Documentation System (SDPX) in accordance with scheduled system updates.
  • Candidates are allowed a maximum of three (3) assessment attempts.
    • Failure in all three attempts will result in the candidate being deemed unsuccessful, and no certificate will be issued.
    • To continue, the user must re-enrol in the course and make a new payment.
  • Reassessment fees may apply in cases of failure or system misuse.

4. Fees & Amendments

  • All standard course fees are final and non-refundable, except as provided under the Refund Policy.
  • Payments must be made through FPX or bank transfer using approved payment channels.
  • Administrative charges apply for any post-submission amendments, including but not limited to:
    • Passport number
    • Seafarers’ Identity Document (SID) details

5. Data Accuracy & Verification

All information submitted must be true, accurate, and complete.
Any false declaration, misrepresentation, or misuse may result in one or more of the following actions:

  • Invalidation of assessment results or certificates
  • Suspension or permanent restriction from the EduRating platform
  • Reporting to the Malaysia Marine Department (MMD)
  • Legal action where applicable

6. Limitation of Liability

EduRating and Mydeck Management Sdn Bhd shall not be held liable for:

  • User-side technical issues (internet connectivity, devices, browsers)
  • Decisions made by employers, shipowners, or third parties
  • Delays caused by scheduled system maintenance or external disruptions beyond reasonable control

7. Changes to Terms

EduRating reserves the right to amend or update these Terms & Conditions at any time without prior notice.
Continued use of the platform constitutes acceptance of the latest version of these Terms.


8. Legal Jurisdiction

These Terms & Conditions shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of Malaysia.
Any disputes arising shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Malaysia.
